I bought this R/R off ebay, since I heard all about the failing R/R. Turns out mine already has one, so I don't need this one.
I forgot which year model this came off of, but it is a 5-pin, so it will wire right up.
I got it for 40 dollars, so I guess I shall ask the same.

 

Hahahaa! I did the same thing except mine is the $80 wholesale from the bike shop next door version. It turns out my electrical failure was the socket connections right below the front of the seat. All the Stator wires to the R/R were fried. Cut them out of the connector, solder, shrink - fires right up. Stator good, R/R good - so I got one too.
