It almost gave me a degree in english, so sometimes I like to rape it because of all the papers it had me write. One year left then no more school and no more english bending me over and doing things to me. Please understand my colorful usage and interweb lexicon.

So...about the shiggity shifter?

Did you break the nib off of it? You can do what I did for about 2 years and drilled/tapped a hole and used a bolt with the stock rubber. Worked great until the wife went down and broke it off too!

your picture really got to me...I ALMOST took my reworked (tapped and bolted without the original rubber) shifter off and sent it to you so you could ride. Maybe just put it in second gear and go. Lesson here...NEVER throw anything away!

Ahh, the number one broken part on a hawk. Mines bent and at first I looked for a new one, but it turns out we all went down on the same side. It turns out it was easier to adapt to the remaining slight bend in mine.

I'm assuming you already check fleabay. I've had bids out on shift levers, but someone always wants a beat up used shift lever more than me.

These things are almost $90?!?!?!?!?!?!? That is rediculous. Are they that different from other bikes? Haven't looked closely at other bikes personally.

A 94 VFR750 lever fits. It's about $30. You lose the linkage and get a reversed shift pattern.

vice grips on shaft give reverse pattern too, but most people consider them temporary.

I think I might be able to assist. The part with the rubber is bent back along the shaft but I think I can bend it back out. I did that with the foot brake arm and it went back no problem when done very easy. I will let you know Saturday how I make out.

Use heat to bend it back or it will most likely break.

It means..."sell me the shifter off your own bike"!!!

but really it just puts the thread up to the top of the queue.
