WTB late model cbr or rc51 fr wheel
As most of you know I grabbed the 04-05 cbr1000rr forks off HRCA#1 so I'm in need of a front wheel to fit.
I don't need a tire and don't care about minor cosmetic damage as I will be refinishing it and painting it, I just don't want a bent rim...
Although I'm on a budget I will consider all options so just let me know what you got

It's the thought that counts saige ...
Wait a second I still need a wheel!!
Just messing with ya
I'm trying to score this wheel on eBay, the bids at $140+$30shipping but there's still 5 days left, I'm trying to spend less then $200 because I still need rotors and I'm gonna swap out the bearings too

I wish I could make my SH rim work but have been told it wont and haven't taken measurements yet..
From what I've read:
CBR1000RR except 2012
CBR600RR all
RC51 all
CBR929/954 all
As for style cheap and straight

VTR wheel have different size bearings to begin with, I'm not sure you can fit bigger bearings in the housing of the vtr wheel... even if you will fit bearings, you may have the issue of making the inner spacer between the bearings to fit into the wheel... and you also have wrong setup for the rotors and wheel axle spacers, If I remember correctly...Just too many things don't match.
Just get a wheel of a CBR1000rr from any year up to 2011, they all work on your forks, with 06 and up you need to add spacers and longer bolts for the calipers as the rotors grew up a bit other then that it's all bolt on!
BTW, the 08 - 11 is also lighter wheel

That's what I figured Ruv, BTW hows the house coming along? I see you have time now to visit the forum...
The bearings wouldn't be a problem. However, I will be contacting a local machine shop in regards to my engine and can get prices for them to make me spacers and bushings I'm just curious about the rotor part of the equation

The offset is wrong on the rotors, and the hole spacing doesn't match the larger rotors, so it becomes a PITA to find a rotor that matches both wheel and caliper... Besides, any wheel you do find, regardless of model (exceps RC-51 SP1) is lighter than the VTR wheel is...

That's what I figured... I already have my eye on 1000rr wheel on eBay, contacted the seller to take it off auction and made him an offer but he said I have to bid because someone else has already bid on it... oh well we'll see how it goes

and every time I go on ebay and look theres a set of white carrozzeria wheels that would go perfectly with my white/black theme...
too bad I dont have $1350 to spend on wheels alone...

Got my new(to me) wheel today!!
You guys weren't lying about the weight difference. Holy smokes Batman, I had to open the box at my parents house(where I get bigger things shipped) before I got back to my place... I seriously thought I got taken the box was so light!
Anyways it came exactly as described, just dirty. Now just gotta sand it down and get it ready for paint and new bearings

3 spokes and has the same type of curves as the vtr wheel just thinner and hollow... this is really making me want to get a rear to match just for the weight difference...
There's one on eBay for $120 shipped but I have 2 problems: 1- lack of funds and the fact that I'm getting 2 lesser paying jobs to replace my one bullshit job, and 2- I have a brand new 180 size rear tire that my girl payed for and will kill me if a have to spend more to replace it...
The first problem I can get around however it will be a risk given that I haven't received a straight answer on the hours I will be receiving and I don't want to **** myself over on next months bills.
And the second problem. I know I can mount it and use it but I know it will change the geometry and I'm worried about handling issues and clearance issues with the lip as I lean this thing over every day I ride, but to be honest I don't think the clearance part will be an issue...
Any advice?

Scottie,
Don't rush, just ride the tire you got, you will always find wheels deals
When you do get a rear wheel with the hub (cannot use the VTR hub), the 08 to 11 will be the best choice, as Honda made it even lighter these years, I tested almost exactly 5 pounds less then the VTR wheel not including the hub, which is lighter as well.
