selling a nearly mint 99 yellow
I picked this bike up last month from the 1st owner's daughter. The owner had died last year, and she needed to sell off some of his things. It had been sitting in an airplane hangar for around 15 years. She said it had been ridden for only a couple of years before he got tired of it. I took it to a good local shop, Motorcycles Unlimited, in Houston, to get the fuel system cleaned an an oil change. the bike is running fantastic now, and i'm putting it up for sale. I have an ebay ad up for it, but am fine with selling in person, if you are in the central or east Texas area. i can help with delivery, if you are in that area, as well.

Thanks. It sure is. I'm really tempted to keep this baby. I just took it out for a quick ride and did a few little baby wheelies lol. It's got so much power.
I'm I'm more of an SV650 fan, myself. 🤷🏻♂️ Both of these are fantastic motorcycles, but I don't need this much power lol

Thank you. It is really nice. I'm more a fan of the Suzuki SV650. This thing rides pretty similarly, but it's just got so much more power. This bike is so nice, and I'm really tempted to keep it, but I think I'd wind up hurting myself for real on it lol

I've already had two people flake on me today. There's a guy in Philly who really wants to buy the motorcycle, but I'd really feel a lot more comfortable with a face to face cash transaction. If there are any Texas boys looking to get their hands on a fast banana, hit me up.

Wow, I had the exact same bike with almost the exact same story about a year ago. I found mine in a local storage unit. It only had 6k miles on it. Changed out the original tires for some better ones I had, new brakes, service, detail... It sold pretty fast. I believe I got $2,900 for it so you're in the ballpark. You'd think they'd be worth a little more but unfortunately not, especially here in South Florida. Thankfully I only paid $800 for lol... Good luck with your sale. Hopefully you can get the exposure through Ebay and not have to actually sell it through them/pay the fees

Hey wow that's pretty cool!
Yeah yeah these bikes should go for a lot more than they are. It's a really really nice motorcycle! I don't care for the position. It hurts my back. if I was more comfortable, I would be all about keeping this motorcycle. last night around midnight I got an offer for a trade for a 99 triumph speed triple 955i. It looks really nice. The dude says that he's got lots of extras in it, as well as a box full of original parts. It's got a two brothers exhaust on it. Lots of rizoma, which I don't really care about lol, but the bike looks really good. It's got 11,000 mi on it, as well, so it's not an old ragged out bike. I'm going to go meet him here in just a minute. He said he had paid $3,500 for it recently, but doesn't like how it rides. He says way too much torque for him. I think the superhawk actually has more, but it might be better for him. I have no clue. Maybe the triumph is more intimidating. So far I'm $1,700 into this Honda lol and I'm about to trade up to a bike that a guy just paid $3,500 for. I think I'm doing okay 😂😂😂

Yeah I would lean towards the Honda from a reliability and parts availability standpoint. The Triumph is cool though. You could consider mounting some higher bars. Easy enough to do either with VFR clip ons, Helibars, Convertibars, etc. or they have top triples that'll accommodate a dirt bike style bar. I don't think you'll have any problems selling it, you'll just need to be a little patient. I had a couple older guys who really wanted it (even came out and sat on it) but ended up apologizing and passing because of the riding position before a guy took it home. Even offered to buy my other Superhawk on the spot for his son lol.

Yeah. I had my hopes up about the triumph, mostly because I've never owned one and would like to. I'm not good at the waiting game. I have like 35 people watching my eBay ad, and someone has already met the $3,000 starting price. There's about 2 days left on it, and I hope I get to see a bidding war erupt. That would be cool

I've listed a few bikes on Ebay to get the exposure but never actually sold one through there. It's great exposure and then I'll sell it locally in person to avoid the fee . Sorry they get enough of my money already and they just keep getting greedier and more annoying as they years go by so I started resorting a lot more to Craigslist and more recently also to Offerup (hate it).

Well, congrats. Sucks that I didn't buy it, but it wasn't in the cards. I noticed your eBay sale looks to have fallen through, but at least you got your asking price.
Best of luck on whatever you end up riding. We'll welcome you back when you come to your senses and buy your second SuperHawk.

Ehh, probably not. I like the engine, but didn't care for the ergos. Maybe if I happened to find an affordable one with a handlebar kit. Thanks though. I knew the bike was worth a good bit. I could have held out and tried to sell at $4k, but I think my $3k asking price was very reasonable and fair.
