Oil pan
Oil pan
I am in desparate need of a lower engine pan. You know where the oil drain plug is and oil filter. I ran over a piece of wood at 80 mph and the thing shot out from under my front tire and crushed the oil filter and cracked case. If someone has one lying around nab I can sure use it.

You weren't on Harbor Blvd checking out one of the working girls on the sidewalk, were you?
Seriously, tough break. Good thing you didn't go down. And I guess 80 on Harbor would be a little excessive.

The State Trooper said she thought it was a hockey stick. She hit it before me. She had turned around to come back and take it off the road. Didn't even see it. It was on the 22 surf.
And if you were only going 80mph on the 22, you were barely keeping up with traffic. I drive it every day.
If it's just a crack, not a hole, maybe it can be tig welded.
I'll call Alan at the automotive machine shop that I've used for over 20 years on Nutwood tomorrow. He should know of someone who could tig weld it. I'm sure he's dealt with the same problem on automotive engines.
The welding instructor at my school said that it will have to be boiled out real well to get rid of all the oil, or the weld will fail. A good welder should be able to do that.
I'll get back to you tomorrow night.

jserio,
I missed the post last night that said you were covered.
Anyway, I got a recommendation from Alan at Bill's Machine Shop on Nutwood. He's used him and said he really knows his stuff.
Stanton Welding
10563 Chestnut Ave.
Stanton 714-527-1598
Off Cerritos 1 block east of Beach. The shop is in back of the house in an alley. I called the guy, and he said you'd have to leave it for a day.
Good luck.

Yeah +1 on the Hondabond. In case the bike dealer or even the Honda dealer doesn't have it I got a tube of Hondabond HT at the Acura dealer. Felt funny just using that and no gasket the first time but that's how it's done and ANYTHING I've ever used it on since has worked like a champ. That stuff is awesome! A couple little dabs to hold gaskets like clutch cover gaskets in place makes it MUCH easier to put those back also.
Well beeing the cheap *** that I am, I was avoiding Hospital parking fees in my hometown by exiting trough the pedestrian exit. I tried that in Quebec city and miserably failed, I had to push my bike all the way home home. Costed me 40 $ to have it welded, I used wd-40 followed by soapy water.
Still I kept using the pedestrian exit in my hometown.
Overall I still saved a whole bunch of money
