Is the Swap hard to do? I love the look but feel it's a lot to do.

There are several threads here. The look is very nice, but there is a lot to do: rear pipe, shock lower mount, etc.

also a longer wheel base/ limited wheels and parts options. its basically all about looks. not a performance mod. IIRC its heavier too so more unsprung mass. lots of modifying to do in every aspect of the rear, brakes, sprockets, brake line, axle, i dont think anything is reusable. i know there is also some custom linkage work to be done.

personally i like the look and performance of a braced swinger weather its the 900rr brace or an SP2 swinger conversion better than a SSS. i dont mean just on the hawk, i mean in general i dont love it even on the 1199 and the like.

its always seemed like the bike would handle different from one side to the other. although it cant be that much of a problem considering Ducati's been racing SSS bikes' for a number of years

This thread is a good post on the topic.

and this is smokin Joe's "nice" hawk. pretty damn sweet.

The look is nice...with the wheel just "hanging out there" as if unattached to the bike. Also, when you have to take the wheel off, it's the easiest thing EVER. Leave the sprocket, the rotor, pull one nut, done!
My favorite thing about my "little Hawk" is that swinger. Honda should've put it on the SHawk from the factory, with the 6 spoke wheels from the VFR. They could've gotten the geometry perfect, and made it sweeter looking to boot. BIG mistake, Mr Honda. Imagine a VFR w/o Superhawk torque in a sport touring bike...AWESOME!
