lightened flywheel

Yep I have another one to get rid of......

Pretty much the same deal as before...$90 shipped in the Continental US
(shipping might be more elsewhere but that can be checked if needed)

The price includes the loan of the flywheel removal tool (just mail it back when you are done) and I have a write up on how to do the swap (it should be under an hour to do the job)

Thx for the plug and yeah it does kind of seem that way....

Though actually the first one was my original flywheel that I pulled when I put a lightened one in mine. Then Ian sent me his old one when he bought that one.....so I had to do something with it.

Besides I have to pay for those HRC bits somehow....

OK, I'm going to do this once it gets too cold here in Michigan to ride. So how do you do it?

The way that ended up working out for me took a buddy and a wall. I put the bike in 6th gear and had him sit on it with the front wheel against the wall. Then his weight on the rear wheel kept it from slipping while I loosened the nut-- I ended up using a small breaker bar (metal pipe slipped over the socket driver) to get enough leverage to loosen it.

I tried doing it myself, but couldn't get enough weight on the rear tire to keep it from spinning when I turned the crankshaft nut. Without the wall, cranking on the nut just drove the bike forward.

This is something I have been interested in doing also. How about a little more descriptive detail on the the complete process to do this. I take it the best way would be to purchase a already lighten flywheel and just swap them out? then sell the old one? Are any special tools needed? flywheel puller?

This and a 520 chain kit are my planned winter projects.
