I am still making them, but for a corbin seat I think it requires modification to fit. I need to find a couple of people locally who have the aftermarket seats so I can modify the rack to work for those. Seems like a fair number of people want one but have aftemarket seats. Anyone in the area want to lend me their sargent or corbin for a day in exchange for a free rack?

I'm in the market for a sargent seat, and would also be interested in a rack for it. So to ask the same question, did you ever get one made for the sargent? If not, and I find one, I'd gladly ship it to you to help out getting one made.

So as an update it looks like I should be able to figure out a way to build a rack for both the corbin and the sargent. Seattle Superhawk graciously has said he will let me borrow his seat so I can build a rack for it (sargent) I will build a fixture so I can repeat the process. Same for the corbin which actually has threads already nearby the mounts need to be an in or two different but pretty easy. Crackerjackman has a corbin and is going to provide me with the dims and an eventual test fit hopefully. Just to let you guys know if there is an interest for a rack and you have an aftermarket seat I am working on it.

nope it replaces the cowl. I like my cowl but once I got used to the convenience of the rack I haven't ever gone back to the cowl. If I want to take water I just throw it under the bungee and go. Same for a place to strap my sweatshirt if I have taken it off. If I find something I have to have and buy it while riding I can take it with me. It turns our bikes into a usable rig. It only takes a couple of minutes to swap back to the cowl if you like.

Cracker I need dims center to center on the threaded holes then if you were to draw a center line between those holes and measure from the center of the line to the very back edge of the seat. (Like an upside down T) Also the distance from the holes to the side of the seat so I can know how much clearance it needs to go around the seat a the mount. I will think about the cowl offer.
Seattle SH I will definitely be coming up to drop the cx project in the next couple of weeks. When I know I will PM or email you to setup a drop off kinda deal.
Thanks guys.

Not to thread-jack, but I would be interested in something like this (for when I have a passenger.) ** note: the pic shows a rear cowl but the rack does not interfere with pillion.

Thanks for the thought Cascade, I will consider it for a future project. Right now I am pretty busy with work. I also am in the beginning design stages of building superhawk auxiliary 2 gallon tanks for touring. I want to figure out a way for that project to work.
Although if I had a picture of the actual vtr1000f design then I would be able to copy it a lot easier.
