FS: Fox Shock for SuperHawk

FS: Fox Shock for SuperHawk
Fox Twin Clicker Shock, fully adjustable W/ 600X900 Spring;
Recently rebuilt by Lindemann Engineering and set to 300psi
(less than 1k miles of riding on rebuild).
Purchased from Indierocker about a year ago, but never got it installed before I sold my Superhawk
I was told by Indie that this was last used on a SuperHawk by a ~260# rider about a year ago. Spring may not be ideal for that weight, but I was told it worked just fine for the rider.
This should be a bolt up, set sag, and go riding deal for someone.
$400 + Shipping
P.S. I don't have the hose clamps in the picture.

900 lb/in spring? Definitely NOT right for a 260 lb. rider in a VTR1000F application.
I don't have the Fox spring-rate application chart in front of me (I'm at work and the chart is at home) but I believe off the top of my head that the 900 lb/in is intended for, more like, a 160 lb rider.
I am ~185 lbs. and am using a 1000 lb/in spring on my Fox (as recommended by Traxxion Dynamics; Fox actually recommended a 950 lb/in spring for the same weight) and my spring works perfectly (measured sag backs this up).
260 lb rider would be more like a 1050 lb/in spring or 1100 lb/in spring (Fox springs come in 50 lb/in increments).
If no one else does in the meantime, I will post Fox's recommended spring rates for their shock when used on the VTR when I get home. In the meantime, here is Penske's spring selection chart (recommended spring rates would be similar): http://www.penskeshocks.com/Motorcycle-Spring_Chart.php
Btw the 600x900 shown on the Fox spring means 6.00" long x 900 lb/in rate.
Sounds like a great deal though.

Actually, I believe a 950 lb/in spring would be more appropriate for that rider weight. That shock is a good deal; price out a separate 950 lb/in spring (springs are EASY to change on Fox Shox and require no special tools) and see if they both fall within your budget.

The naked weight? Cause I'm like 170 before I get in the shower (just be glad you don't have a picture, well at least not since that Chile Peppers parody) but probably close to 200 in full gear. That could make a difference.

I just looked at the Penske spring chart and if definitely says "Rider weight with gear". I'm pretty sure the Fox spring chart was the same.
THAT makes sense as the total weight of rider gear for 2 different people can vary considerably depending on helmet, boots or shoes, jacket only or full suit, leather or textile, etc. A 150 lb rider with 30 pounds of riding gear would need the same spring rate as a 165 lb rider with 15 pounds of riding gear, for example.
Be aware, though, that Race Tech, with their spring rate selections, deals in rider weight without gear.

Yes, obviously the shock was not setup for his weight (the forks were), but it didn't slow him down any. He's had a ton of track time along with SuperBike school training. That being said... Neil, the 260lb rider in question, could whoop my a$$ through the twisties on an clapped out '74 GL1000.

Thanks clearing that up Indie. Jamie Daugherty should be able to hook anyone up with the proper spring, for your weight, for an excellent price (http://www.daughertymotorsports.com/.../foxshock.html).
Swapping a spring on Fox Shock is super easy.

I'm actually quite surprised no one has jumped on this shock yet.
Great upgrade for a known VTR weakness (threads abound on the subject); its stock rear shock.

Me too. I'm pretty sure this has to be the cheapest aftermarket shock upgrade you can get for the Superhawk. Somebody here must be in the market for a rear shock? Don't make me put this on ebay guys.

Just wanted to restate that this shock has not been used by me and has been recently rebuilt with very few miles on it. All you might need to do is respring it; depending on your weight.

Damn can't wait for the new shock. Any more abuse from that pos stocker and I'd probably sterilize myself. Seriously, the little japanese ***** that test rode the first VTR must have been bouncing so hard off the seat.
