Front end kit

Offered to this forum under "right of first refusal".

From my '98 is the front end. Originally from a CBR 900 RR, it consists of both legs, the upper and lower triple, the bearings, a set of clip ons, the axle and a carbon fiber fender with the correct mounting hardware. Included are four shims that I used to make the Nissen calipers from the S'hawk fit the CBR legs while using the S'hawk front wheel and discs.

My intention is to go to e-Bay with it at the end of October if there isn't a customer for me here.

$450 plus shipping

Today the barfer site lists the 1000RR front end for $540. But I understand your position.

I have never seen a total bolt on conversion for so little $$ (new aftermarket clip ons can cost $200 and more). Seems like a great deal.

come to find out after paying its a 1998 900rr front end which doesnt work with the hawk 17 inch front wheel... so I am waiting for it to arrive to see how far off the calipers are with making complete contact with the rotors.... I am fearing the worst

I guess you're past the wheel diameter problem (was only a problem for fender fit though). You could look into slightly larger rotors or just watch pad wear, it won't happen overnight and the pads are visible from the outside of the calipers. It's worth following through with the installation/use.

(Early???) CBR1100XX rotors are a direct bolt-on to the VTR wheel (also have same offset) but are 310mm in diameter. So long as you can set the caliper offset properly, you should be good to go.

Hope this helps

Actually, the 97-98 CBR1100XX front rotors have a little more offset than the stock rotors.

Unfortunately, it's only the 96-97 edition that is a direct bolt-on (not sure about the pre-956 stuff, although I know the rotors bolt pattern is different on those.....)
