Trust me... You don't want used CCT's... CCT's are a wear item... That's like buying used engine oil or head gaskets...

There is however a use for used CCT's if you convert them to manual one's...

I think he wants Manual CCTs, in which case used would be fine.

Used Auto CCTs are for making manual ones out of.. lol

You can buy APE manual ccts here (the bike needs two of them): http://cbrzone.com/sprockets.html

All you need is a drillpress and a bolt... I have been running a pair of converted one's now for a while...

Yes, that's what they're saying. I haven't done it, so I can't comment on that. I'm certain that somebody who has done it will chime in soon with instructions.

The instructions are simple...

Rip out the adjustable crap, find a good bolt like in lazn's pic and drill/tap thread for that... Thread it in and put on either an O-ring or a thread seal and an nyloc nut (not a plain one as in the picture) as it's better for locking it... Then either weld a plain nut to the end of the threads or drill it and stick a pin and safetywire through... That way you can dismantle it and replace the seal/O-ring if neccessary...

The dimensions on the bolt needs to be an M8 thread or the closest equivalent for you metric challenged... The head should be shaped like in the pic to give a good surface against the chain lifter/guide...

Right on. Well that's a lot cheaper than buying aftermarket units. Thanks for the info.

Yep, Tweety has actually done it, so he knows what he is talking about. That pic is one I just grabbed off the web, I actually have APEs in mine.

Exactly what I'm doing, except I'm getting someone's spare ones so that if I **** up, I can still reinstall my stock ones. No downtime due to stupidity/mistakes.

A simple and easy addition can make your stock CCT safe. Do a search on
CCT redo. I have been running the mod for 2 years with no oil leaks or failures. The stock cct cannot retract after the simple modification.
