1999 superhawk (naked project/RC51 fairing)
Hey thanks for looking.
Sorry for the dirty bike. This is how the bike is today: monday nov. 21st. just opened up the garage, and rolled her out.
Reason for selling:
One of the last times l rode this bike l got a ticket. Since people will ask... was going 85 in a 40mph. the cop wrote 70. Parked the bike for several months. I was in the process of adding a "rc51" tail fairing. it sits unfinished.
Where did i Buy the bike?
I bought the bike from a dealer/shop in Huntington Beach. it was a repo, or thats what i was told.
What did the bike look?
The bike was naked when i got it. Came with a Motocross style head light. stock seat, but no fairing/plastic any where. the R/R was exposed, and just looked too unfinished for me... but the bike was super mechanically sound and for a good price, so i looked passed the parts it could use for to make the bike more aesthetically pleasing.
soon after buying the bike... i decided to change the look of the bike to fit my likes.
The project came to an end when the ticket happened. Decided Fast bikes and I don't mix and that i'd kill myself on one.
Cons-
-battery is dead.
-needs brackets made to finish the tail fairing
-needs a rc51 seat
-needs brackets made/bought for the side fairings
-gas tank was spray painted black by the previous owner. The stock yellow paint can be seen... little chipping.
-small dent on exhaust from previous owner.
-needs a head light to finish.
-needs front fender. (bought it from the dealer with no fender) got a rc51 fender, was planing to modify it to fit.
Pros-
-fresh stock air filter. got receipt
-recent tune up valve job. Honda dealer in Costa Mesa. Got receipts.
-new R/R got it on ebay (bigger then stock with venting fins for cooling)
-Tires new and fresh. still got hairs on the side wall. maybe 200 miles on them.
-Clean bike for a '99. Frame is nice, clean no scratches or dents.
-RC51 clone side fairing and tail are included.
-mile are low, battery is dead so i can't check... think its 18,xxx
-side mirror cafe style
Not sure on price.
Shoot me some offers.
A complete part out could be an option. who needs parts?! hit me up.
cheers,
Matt

either that or i part it. i know the motor and trans are fresh. the engine had a valve job and tune up which cost $550. throttle response is nice, crisp revs.
the tires alone front and back were $600.
i'd rather not part because thats pointless. this is a running (once it get a battery) 1999 honda vtr1000F.
simply don't want a street bike any more. period. They are crazy death machines.
im PAYING insurance on it. geico wont let me put the bike in a "non - op" so im paying $30 a month and don't ride it.
come check it out.
call with questions.
im in Fountain Valley. Which is in Orange County CA.
for reference Fountain Valley is near huntington beach, costa mesa, and santa ana.

I was shocked with the $550 to adjust the valves but the tires must be real special.....
