FS: 98 Superhawk, naked, modified
1998 Honda Superhawk VTR1000f
This was a WERA racebike. I purchased it 2 years ago and removed the fairing and started turning it into a standard, much like a Ducati Monster. Most everything is still safety wired. The motor is in great shape. Recent tuneup including plugs, wires, filters, fluids, cam chains adjusted and valve lash checked. The motor has <2000 miles since being rebuilt. It was in fine shape before, just not in race shape. Modifications include;
Stock pistons and crank with aftermarket cams (Moriwaki I believe)
Intake ports deburred and polished
Manual cam chain tensioners
All emissions components removed and/or blocked
K&N air filter
Dynojet Stage 2 jet kit
Yoshimura RS-3 full header with Carbon Fiber mufflers
Re-enforced frame and swingarm
Moriwaki rearsets
CBR929 front forks, triple clamps and brakes
CBR929 brake and clutch master cylinders
Braided steel brake and clutch lines
Ohlins steering damper
Fox twin clicker shock
VTX1800 radiator installed under seat with dual fans
Summit racing digital speedometer with 1/4 mi and 0-60 recall
SPA tachometer with redline lights and top RPM recall
Auto Meter fuel level gauge (late model sensor)
Daytona digital coolant temp gauge
R1/R6 regulator/rectifier
Freestyle Ingenuity bar risers
Moose Racing ATV handlebars (Banshee)
CRG bar end mirrors
GSXR (07) headlight and windshield
LED signals front and rear
New gel pack battery
It will need tires soon. I will include a slightly use (<1000 miles) Metzeler Z6 for the rear. The seat could stand to be recovered. I intended to get the wheels painted when the tires are changed. Spare parts and service manual included.
Located in Statesville, NC, 45 miles north of Charlotte.
Price drop $2500

I'm sure you could take all the bits and pieces necessary for the mod and sell it as a kit. It could be a real good seller as I'm sure there are a lot of people who want to do the mod but don't have the time or know-how to start it from scratch. Aftermarket bits do real well on the forum and eBay. Personally, I wouldn't bother selling any bike whole... especially a gold mine like that one. In a bad economy not many people have the $$$ to buy another bike... but most people still have enough money to fix-up or repair their current steeds. Good luck in whatever you decide.

Last chance. Any want this awesome bike before I part it out?
If not, I will start taking offers on parts. I will need commitments on most of the parts before I get started. Who wants the rear sets? I would like to keep the motor together. Also, the underseat radiator kit shouldn't be broken up.

I agree, it's a pia to part out, but that's probably the only way. Looks like a great bike.

FWIW, when I was looking for a VFR800 I hit up VFRD... and when I was looking for my first VTR... I hit up this forum. That's how I got my membership here. I've even sold a VTR a couple years back.
