RIPPED OFF!!!!!

HI ALL!!
I recently bought some parts from someone here on the forum.
the parts sent to me were Nothing like, The Parts Pictured.
in an effort to save on postage! and to cram in a small box, they'd been completely dismantled! and Broken! in the process.
(I'd of gladly paid the extra postage.)
I've privately given the sender the opportunity to refund my money. He chose to Blame me and make excuses, rather than make it right.
how would you guys deal with this:
Swivel Eared, Swivel Necked, Crumbsnatchin Common Dog!!!
that sold me a pile of metal. NOT A WORKING PART???

re:RIPPED OFF PICTURES

1st pic/The complete set, (still properly attached)
With ALL parts intact.
is the picture as advertised on the forum.

the Other pic. is the pile of parts I got in the mail. there's also a baggy full of loose parts. INCLUDING,
the T.P.S. sensor, Broken off at the rivets.
(which the sender insists are screws that "look like rivets"

Attachment 16394

Attachment 16395
1st,, the TPS does use screws, not rivets,, the other party is correct in that...security screws that you have to work at to remove, but they are screws.. Not to say something was not broken in the process,, I can not see that in the pic.

Other than that.. work the issue out with the seller.... if you can not, feel free to say your side of the story without embellishment.. Im sure the seller will tell his side.

Moving this to the seller/buyer feedback forum

Easy enough to find two new bolts to re-install the TPS sensor. Pretty much everyone has to slot those bolts to remove them, unless you have the special tool to remove them. Which is pretty hard to find.

Yes, I do agree it would have been nice to have the carbs kept assembled in one piece! that does require a certain degree of mechanical know how to re-assemble them.

What else was broken! Maybe just send the parts back and ask for a refund.
A learning experience for both parties! I think.

So, while they were removed from the assembly bracket.. they hardly look "completely dismantled! " Nor can I see anything that is "broken"

Can you post a pic close up of the broken part?

Sorry Erik, have to disagree, if I was buying a carb set I would presume they were the assembly not the component parts. In fact I would only buy the assy.

I don't have a dog in this fight but I think the seller screwed up and needs to make it right.

Fair enough..

Can you point out the "broken" part then? I can not see it in the pictures provided.

Not sure how the phrase " completely disassembled" apply to two sub components that have many, many parts that are still assembled as shown in the pictures.

Still I get it, if the buyer thought he was buying a carb set assembly ready to install. .. That is not what is in the pic for sure

Agreed. I would be pretty ticked off if the carbs showed up like that too. Something always gets screwed up when you pull apart a carb assembly like that.

I suppose for me it would depend on how badly I needed the carbs. Maybe I would just try to piece them back together and hope for the best. Or maybe I would send them back and ask for a refund. Either way it is ugly.

Was anything else disassembled besides the brackets? Have you tried putting them back together? It seems like it would take about 5 minutes to bolt them back together just by looking at the pictures.

Disagree with what?

The OP said they were broken and completely disassembled..

I said......
So, while they were removed from the assembly bracket.. they hardly look "completely dismantled! " Nor can I see anything that is "broken"
I still see nothing "broken" in the pic provided, nor do i see carbs "completely disassembled"

I do think the parts should have arrived as they were pictured pre-sale....

It's been days now.... and the OP has not posted a follow up... Hope that means his bike is back up and running and or he got this carb deal worked out with the seller..

I believe he is running now. We talked about him buying my spare carbs, then he said it was back together....hopefully without spending $1200 on new carbs like the shop suggested.

At least he didn't drag the seller's name through the mud before he put his foot in his mouth.

Well I would not go that far..

Parts pictured , should be parts received in same condition.

It appears that was NOT done so by this seller..

I would not be happy to receive carbs partially disassembled (ie missing parts, screws and done by a person with unknown ham fistedness) When what I paid for was clearly pictured as a complete assembly.

Perhaps, and the seller probably shouldn't have disassembled the carb assembly just to use a smaller box, but I don't think the buyer got RIPPED OFF!!!!! and I don't think any parts were even missing.
The good news is that he's up and running, hopefully without too much hassle.

+1 Marquez on that.

I know only too well what it feels like to buy something that you really need only to have it turn up and not be what was expected.

That starts a whole chain reaction that stops you from riding your bike, and cost $$$ that haven't been budgeted for.

Major bummer!!!

I will chime in here. These parts were sold by me. I notified the seller that the carbs would be seperated to fit in the box better. All parts/ screws were bagged and sent with the carbs. The brackets were simply removed to fit better. Yes I admit the TPS may have been broken before shipping. I told the buyer the exact same thing. He wanted them in a rush so I shipped them out the next day after he requested them not looking them over much. I offered a refund to buyer if parts were shipped back. I have heard nothing in weeks from him. I also didnt find out he was not happy with them weeks after he got the parts.

Maybe its me, but I dont see the big deal with putting 5min into bolting the carbs back together and using his old tps. They were $100 shipped including all lines and the choke assembly.

It's about expectations. Right or wrong, the product he got was not what he expected.

Yea but if the buyer is expecting a unicorn despite documentation that he's buying a horse, you can't hold the seller responsible.

Not trying to blame anyone. I was pointing to unspoken expectations. If you don't specify your expectations it's hard to complain.

Oh I'm openly blaming and condemning all parties involved, especially since I won't be meeting either of them face to face and will claim to know explicit details about the transaction and communication involved.

In this case we have a clear winner based on the more productive and busy lifestyle indicated in the OP's Smart Phone Grammar. I don't trust anyone with enough time to properly proof read a forum post.

I'm glad this seems to have been resolved but a word of advice from me.
I have always sold items "as pictured".
There can be no unrealistic expectations as a result.

I'd just like to say that I purchased an item from 7moore7 and I don't know where I put it. I blame 7 because he sent it before I was ready to install it and he didn't put one of those clapper-find-your-keys thingys on it either. And it doesn't matter that he gave me a good price on the item; you gotta have principles. I have family in Arizona, 7. Refund my money now or I WILL find you.

If you no longer have my PayPal info, PM me. A money order would be OK too, but no personal checks from someone of your ill repute.

OK, give me a minute to proofread this......oops, that should be a semicolon there...OK, looks good, posting now...
