Good and bad deals - share your experience

I figure lots of people buy stuff for their bikes online. Hell - I bought two cars and my Hawk off Ebay So share your experiences buying hawk-related parts online. If off website, list the URL and date, how customer service treated you, quality etc. If off Ebay, list the seller ID and item number (active for 90 days since auction close) - maybe others can get a great deal from this seller as well. Also, would be great to list all sellers that have messed up the orders, so others think twice before buying from them.

Found some used aftermarket exhausts on Ebay for 99$ - auction expires in 20 hours from the time of this post:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEWA%3AIT

Described as "wileyco high performance race exhaust" - has anybody heard of Wileyco? These are standard mount from the looks of them, and speaking about the looks - not much different from stock.

I've heard of the brand, but never known anyone who had their exhaust. For $99, sure would be hard to pass up! If you don't like them you can always re-list them on ebay.

OK, this is a pet peeve not a personal judgement on you Alic but I really hate it when people "yell" to everyone about great ebay deals. I was (past tense) patiently watching the auction for that engine, hoping that I could pick it for a great price. Oh well, I guess it just wasn't in the cards for me......

AFAIK, ronayers.com is still the best place, day in day out, for honda parts. TIP: I order a bunch of necessary chemicals like chain lube, honda spray polish, coolant etc whenever I just have to have a low cost part. Why? It's a $7 charge for an order of $1 to $100 no matter what; except tires. My last order was only about $40 but nearly 30 lbs and it was still only $7 shipping!!! Of course, if you buy stuff you don't really need then they "win".

I use ebay from pretty much everything else but I don't have any specific sellers there that I frequent. I did get a wileyco muffler from dennis kirk through one of their ebay auctions.

It was for a gixxer 750 that I modded to fit my bandit 1200. In doing this, I discover that the carbon fiber model I got was simply a steel can with a CF sleeve wrapped around it (boo!). True CF cans sound great IMO and don't have that "tinny" sound of steel cans. This one sounded tinny. I'd rate it's construction as mid-pack. FYI, they're pronounced vee-lee-co.

Ha-ha Sorry Doug - I didn't wanna ruin it for ya... Still 450 bucks isn't bad a deal. I opened this thread so that people who don't have time/skills to look for good deals could still find them. Besides, I only post to this forum - and we have few regulars here, so that ain't much competition. Anyway, I'll try to post only VERY good deals IMHO.

Superbling-
I agree with you. If folks don't check ebay regularly, that's their loss. Unless it's your item, don't post links to ebay. You'd be at it all damn day! There's usually 10-20 Superhawk items I'm watching at any one time. I sure wouldn't waste everyone's time by posting them all up here! (besides, I'm trying to get darn good deals, and I don't want to get into a bidding war with other SH owners here).

On the same line as your problems with the "CF" exhaust. I bought a Yosh "titianum" exhaust for the SH. Only the "sleeve" of the cans are Ti. The end caps, and all the other fittings are stainless steel. Don't get me wrong, they are good quality, but they are NOT of the same class as some of the "FULL TITIANIUM" systems/mufflers other companies offer. Just letting folks know, so they don't expect to get a 10lbs set of pipes, only to find out they are closer to 25lbs....
