Will a RC51 alt cover.....

Will a RC51 alternator cover (left cover) fit on a superhawk?

Mine has a hole ground in it

Or, can the cover be heliarced?

Or, does someone make a "strenghthend "one for track? ( I see ads for these in magazines, but they are all for, CBR's, R1's Gixxers, etc)

Thanks

you can tig weld it........use the proper filler rod and make sure it is real clean by brushing it with a stainless steel brush before you weld it.

cloakerz, thanks, I will have to go to a welding shop and see how much that will cost. I used to use oxy/acetylene for minor welding/brazing when I was a auto mech in the 70's. I know very little about welding any other metals.

A new cover is $150. I dont know how much a used one would go for (if I can find one)

redman, I asked one of the parts guys at a dealer, he said he "thought" a RC51 cover would work. so, I would need to be positive before I spent money on a part that might work.

I asked a guy about welding (on another list, lives near me though), he said it would be expensive. I told him a new cover was $150 and that I hadnt found a aftermarket one. He said that he could get it done (and strengthen it) for less than a new one.( with the caveot that he needed to see it first and see how much damage it had)
