I have an '01. I'm looking at an upper triple clamp on ebay that is from a '99. It is silver coloered and mine is black. Is that the only difference. Are there offset or spacing changes from year to year? Thanks.

It's painted silver. If you just want a silver upper triple you could just paint yours.

The 1998-2000 upper clamp use's a different ignition that the 2001-2005 clamp. I don't remember if the steering lock worked or not if you switched them up. The earlier clamp will not have the mount for the ignition switch bezel either. Otherwise, they are the same.

Thanks Gents. COlor is not an issue. THinking about trying some regular handlebars. Bikemaster superbike bars. Looking for a spare triple to experiment with. Trying to find some Suzuki SV mounts. Like the way they look and the slightly aft cant.
