TPS settings

newb here,
can someone explain what the TPS does and how to change it to improve gas mileage? apparently not too many people know about it, from what i was told. and, will changing the settings have a negative effect on the bike's performance?
preciate any tips.

It serves one purpose. It tells the ignition advancer when to advance. It is a rheostat that delivers a rising resistance based on the opening of the butterfly plate in the carb.

Much too much is made of it.

vtromey: I tried the TPS adjustment (mine was at 837 ohms stock, set it to 477) and was not at all impressed with the end result. The bike felt less responsive with no real benefits. I re-set it back to stock last week and all is well again.

well, guess if it aint broke, don't fix it! :wink: thanks for the reply fellas.
i'm gonna ask my buddy what he set his at before he sells it.. . maybe there's a magic number that'll let you get a way with things...

will somebody make a freakin larger tank already! one that isn't made of carbon fibre/kevlar and doesnt' cost 1100US!!!
