Thermosensor thread pitch 1998-2000

Does anyone know the thread pitch of their thermosensor (37750-PC1-004)? I think it is 1/8-28 BSPP but I think it does have a slight taper? Just looking for a quick answer without pulling it. Thanks.

Um... If it does it's the first thing on that bike with a non-metric thread I have ever seen... Keep in mind it's made/speced in Japan, not the US... They don't share your fascination for odd threads...

It's more likely to be an M10... I'm not sure of the pitch though without having a look...

Ha. I can only assume that British Standard Pipe Parallel/Tapered (BSPP/BSPT) originated on your side of the pond and National Pipe Thread was created over here?

I just took it out and my Acewell sensor is 10mm fine thread and the stock sensor is ... damn close but finer threads and very slightly tapered (I left the measurements downstairs). This is going to be fun.

What's normally refered to as M10 fine thread is M10x1.25... There is also M10x1 and M10x0.75... I'd say it's likely to be M10x1 as I have seen those on other Honda's... The slight taper is kind of common to use on any thread, without specifying it in any standard, just makes it easier to avoid cross threading stuff, and are usually just the specified valleys and then the ridges are tapered, making them wider/flatter...

And yeah, the brits are also a bit stubborn... They are even making new standards in non-metric?! Go figure...
