Stock peg fitment?

Hi all,

I am looking to replaced the ebay special food pegs on my 98 SH, they vibrate the crap out of my feet. Unfortunately I don't see too many stock VTR pegs on ebay. Are there other more widely available OEM ones that would fit and maybe a be a little more cushy than the raw aluminum ones I have now? Anyone have a pair they want to get rid of?

Thanks!

Just search "VTR1000F footpegs" on Ebay. There are plenty of OEM style pegs with rubber to choose from. They're probably all from China but it's worth the few extra bucks to buy them from a US seller so you don't have to wait 2 months to get them.

Those are the first ones that came up. I didn't search through them all.

The only thing I worry about is if they are gonna support my weight reliably if I have to stand up on the pegs. I feel like a read/heard a horror story about using Chinese foot pegs and having one snap off. Have you had any experience with cheap pegs in the past? Only my second bike and the first one is stock steel ones.

Thanks!

I bought a pair once for an older FZR600 I fixed up and sold. They were pretty nice knock offs of the originals for cheap and worked for me. I sold the bike when I was done with it and it still looked real nice a few years later when I saw him put it up for sale again so I guess they held up. I understand, I'm not huge on alot of Chinese parts but sometimes they do the job. Hopefully someone will offer you a pair they have laying around. They seem to still be available new from Honda but it looks like you'd have to piece them together and they'll end up being a bit more expensive that way.

Stock VFR pegs are only slightly narrower at the mount, and work fine. That's what I have on my mine

That was my thought but good to know. I think as long as they look solid and don't seem weak off the bat they are probably fine. Ended up not needing these anyways, see below.

Good to know!

So I was looking through a box of parts I got with the bike for something else and found the original pegs. The left one has a bit of rash on the tip and it was still attached to the snapped off mount from the bike, and neither side has the little bolt that sticks out the bottom, but I dont think either of those things are a big deal. I will try throwing these on tomorrow and see how they feel.

Thank you everyone for for the insight and recommendations!
