Still getting popcorn!

OK. So I have done the shims to spec according to the knowledge base. I also have the PAIR all removed with blockoff plates. Everything is capped according to the write up.

I am still getting a lot of popcorn on decel and also occasional Carb farts.

#4 shims.
Front Carb shimmed once. Stock removed. Needle 2.25 turns.
Rear Carb shimmed once with stock still there. Needle 2.5 turns.

Could it be something not capped in the CA emission removal? The PAIR all checks out correctly.

Is the a photo thread in addition to the 996 site write up that I have not found yet in search that I could use to make sure the previous owner did the CA emission removal correct?

Thanks.

You could still be running slightly lean. Did you put #48 pilots in by any chance?

Hey guys. I'm booked for this month of August, but come September I will have a bunch of free time if you still need some help. Although Nick should be pretty expert at playing with Superhawk carbs by now!

Thanks guys. I have been busy the last two days. I am going to take the tank off and go over the EVAP removal on Sunday and see if I can find anything wrong.

Nick, Mike, if either of you guys are out riding around Camarillo tomorrow let me know.

Rechecked everything this weekend. Could not find any cracked caps or vac leaks.
Riding into work this morning I messed with the choke during decel. That seemed to clear up some of the popcorn sound. I may try to adjust the jets again :-(
