Question Steering Question

I stop by the local Honda dealer today to ask about a state inspection here in New Hampshire. I ask many questions about different aspects of the bike. One question was regarding any issues that needed to be addressed on a bike with 10K. The service manager stated that the bearings in the steering
should be checked and retorqued if needed. (about 1.5 Hrs to do) Just wondering if other SH owners have had this done. Does this become lose over time and need attention?? He said if it was really bad you would know.
The bike handles well at the moment.. Thanks

The steering head bearings in both of my VTRs needed replacement by 10k. Evolution Suspension in San Jose,CA did the work for me and changed me over to roller bearings as they handle the loads better.
About $75 parts and labor.
Best of corners.

Much more expensive to replace them than to just adjust them. Adjusting takes about 15 minutes. Replacing takes a better part of an afternoon.
