Thumper is an unknown quantity at this point
Not much help on the test stuff, but this company can sure do the rewind cheaper and better than a new stock one.

Great guy to deal with and quick turnaround

Yeah thanks I emailed him for pricing but really hoping someone knows how to test it first before I replace it.

Here's a scan from the factory manual for testing the stator.

Thanks
Do you know where I could get a copy of that online ?

So I assume once I do that test I can see if its good or bad ?

Think it would be a bad ground or just the stator?

Guess I have to test it and see what it does

Anyone replaced one themselves?

I tested it and the battery has 12V and while running its getting 13V + this makes no sense why else would it go dead?

Yeah well with the key off it was at a solid 12V so there was no draw right so I am not sure what it would or could be

Did you follow the directions that kris-b-crunch posted for testing the Stator?

It shows exactly what to measure and what to expect.
