Stator???
Stator???
Just wanting to check to make sure.
Do you have to drain the oil to change out the stator? It doesn't say anything about it in the service manual and sounds like I don't need to, but don't want to pull the cover off and have one hell of a mess to clean up. And for all I know I missed it in the manual since I don't have it in front of me.
Thanks,
Verne

If it is like my VFR when I replaced mine, when you pull the cover off it will have a small residual amount on the bottom off the case. One rag was enought to clean in up.
Getting the cover off is the hard part. I needed a gear puller to break the seal on the VFR cover.
