rear caliper ?
rear caliper ?
Can any one confirm if the Superhawk/Firestorm rear caliper is the same as RC51 rear caliper ?
Part number is the same for pads and the calipers look the same, but I'm finding it hard to find caliper part number online ! the part numbers I seem to find are for the caliper and bracket together, I just want to know if the caliper is the same, any help would be greatly appeciated.

In you look on the Ronayers microfiche the part#s for each caliper are #8. They are different part #s. To the best of my memory the calipers are identical EXCEPT the fact that the holes for the brake lines and bleeder screws are swapped.
I also remember an R6 rear caliper (it's been a long time I'd have to look up the years) was a direct swap the RC51 guys used to do as it was .000001 grams lighter than the original one.
I'd think that the lines can be rerouted to make them work as the bleeder screw.
I'm doing an axle swap on my car to convert drum brakes to discs.
The calipers are from a Kia Rio and identical as the Accent calipers with the exception of the banjo bolt is swapped from too to bottom.
Since I've got Rio stainless lines for the front and rear of my Accent it shouldn't be a problem for the rear disc fitment.
Accent and Rio are fraternal twins with most parts swappable.
I guess this would be simar to the Rc51 and SupeeHawk with minor variations.
So would it be beneficial to swap to the RC51 calipers for the rear or not. 🤔🤨🧐
I guess just imagine hooking up your stock rear brake line to where the bleeder screw is. That's where it connects on the RC51 caliper. If you're using the stock line will it be long enough? Also don't know if you'll end up with any goofy angles (sorry I'm a little OCD) with regards to the brake line. If you're using an aftermarket brake line I'd measure and remeasure and in addition to the length you want they can custom make the bends on the ends to whatever angle you like so again everything fits perfect.
My question to the original poster is why bother? I'm assuming you need a stock caliper and have an RC51 caliper? I can check in the garage next time I'm up on the ladder. I know you're in Australia but if I have a spare Superhawk rear caliper you can have it for the postage to save you the trouble.

You are close on why I need a caliper, just around the other way, I have a Firestorm caliper, but was checking If I need a RC51 caliper !
the reason I was asking about the caliper is because I have wanted to do the SP2 swingarm swap for an eternity, I have all parts needed except a RC51 rear caliper, and the other day I was going over my stash of RC51 parts and noticed I didnt have the caliper, so I was thinking I didnt have the caliper because the Firestorm caliper probably fitted and years ago I more than likely researched about the caliper, but since that time had forgotten
, so jumped on here thinking some kind person would probably be able to confirm the compatibility.Thread
