Only Running on front cylinder
Only Running on front cylinder
New to the forum and have been scouring threads to resolve problem.
While running on front cylinder I can only get the rear cylinder to roar to life dribbling fuel into velocity stack. Fuel flows well through float bowls and needle and seat seem to be working as normal. Compression 170. Examined boot on cv carb and no rears or cracks noted. Pulled plug of rear cylinder and plug is dry very little smell of fuel.
im perplexed as to what I am not finding. Clearly fuel starvation related but I am in a quandary what I could be missing.
2004 Superhawk with 25000 miles. Am new owner and bought it knowing it “wasn’t running right”.
any suggestions would be very much appreciated since I’m about to pull my hair out. How could something so simple be hiding from me!!!!

Ascothawk I’m thinking tomorrow I’m going to have a look at the carb floats the needle and seat and see if it has been jostled around or is not positioned correctly. When you mentioned the main jet I thought well maybe the fuel is not even getting to the main jet. I can fashion with a clear tube Inserted the bowl drain and see where the fuel level really is. I can squirt fuel into the problematic cylinder and make it fire up. I will get that I try and see what I find.
Thanks for everyone’s help and encouragement. After a thorough cleaning of the carburetor I checked the floats needle and seat main jets that all looked normal. Bought.and installed some new iridium plugs , new air filter bolted things back together and it immediately fired up. EASY fix that had me scratching my backside for a bit. DAMNIT THIS THING WILL GO!!! Thanks Ascot and John-o for your help and interest.
