Need help with bearing selection
It looks like Honda dropped the color code for the main journal and crank bearings. They list them now as A,B,C,D & E. Manual lists them as green, yellow, blue, brown and black.
Anyone know what they are supposed to be?

Martin,
I don't think they dropped the color codes - I could be wrong though.
The crankcase has two letter codes stamped in it adjacent to the main bearing bores. One is for the left bore, the other is for the right.
The crankshaft has a letter and a number, on the left and right counterweights. The number is for the main journal, the letter is for the rod journal.
The con rods have a number (or are supposed to, mine did not).
To select main bearings, take the letter from the case and the number from the crank (left and right). Use the table in the manual to select the color. Same thing for the rod bearings.
From there, I think you can look up the part numbers for the bearings, based on the color code.
I hope this is what you are looking for.

Hey I found out what I need, Ronayers does not list them by the color codes only ABCDE.
I pulled up the bikebandit.com website and they list the colors in parenthesis along with the honda lettering.
A is the blue bearing
B is the black bearing
C is the brown bearing
D is the green bearing
E is the yellow bearing
Hope this helps someone in the future.
Hey mods how about adding this the the knowledge base.
