Need Electrical Help!!!

Swapped the ccts and pair plates this weekend and took her for a test ride. No problem. Got home shut her off. Came back out to fire it up and listen to see if any adjustments were needed and as shes idling I hear the fan kick on. I glance to check the temp and notice nothin is working on my inst cluster. Tach dead. Speedo dead. Temp dead.... You get the idea. Check the fuses and the third 10amp is blown. swap it and blows it as soon as i turn the key. I am going to trouble shoot and wire chase but i wanted to post and see if there were any ideas from you guys. Thanks. Oh and I didnt mess with any electric stuff as far as i know. The only thing i did do was unhook the wire connector for the gas tank to remove it and hooked it back up properly.

Sounds like a direct short to me. Possibly a pinched wire somewhere? If you have access to a volt meter, you could do a continuity check (key off) from fuse to ground. If meter shows continuity you've got a shorted wire. LOL!

Take the fuse out, and use a thick piece of bailing wire.
Then ... follow the smoke ... should lead you right to the problem ...

Just kidding !

Seriously though, I found that when i unplug my left front turn signal it stops blowing the fuse. Great. I bought it with flush mounts on it and the right one just burned out about a week ago. (not leds) So its uplugged for now and fine. Right ones burned out, not gonna miss the left one eh? I use hand signals too anyway. Yeah, i said hand signals. Ever wonder how many cagers even know what your doing? Anyway, any thoughts would be great. Thanks
