This is a fuel injection model
???

VTR1000F has 48mm Keihin Carbs as standard - though there are rumours of modding late model XL1000V Varadero fuel injection onto the VTR. Best look underneath the tank to be sure what's been put in there... If FI then pop your question to the Varadero boys.

Yeah mine had the same problem until I removed the flux capacitor clutch. All those special fuel injected superhawks have that same problem.

Either you have a heavily modified Superhawk, or you have been heavily misinformed. In the case of the former, why would someone restrict it?

And in the case of the former, more info please!

...and if not, normal carb de-restrictors still won't help you . I suspect air/fuel or perhaps electrical issues are the case here.

I did a double take on that as well, I'm assuming it's 180 kph...

If it's 180 mph, I have some follow up questions...

Yikes, even if that thing doesn't have fuel injection, there are some nice mods on that bike. I like the brakes and the rearsets, oil lines etc. Nice lookin' ride.

180 km/h restriction is in Japan, so this bike comes from here. I suppose it is in CDI unit?

It's what makes time travel possible. Nevermind... it was a joke. There is no "fuel injection model." And the reason your bike "cuts out" at "180" (155) is because it's not a Hayabusa.

There are some varadero throttle bodies on ebay right now ,maybe one of you should swap out your carbs and have the second FI VTR! Zeener valve sold seperately!

So you need to search more how the restriction is done, I have no idea. It has to be something with CDI unit together with speedo sensor. There is no other way how to restrict it.

Maybe try to ask some japan member here through PM ...

against all odds went smaller on main jets from 175 standerd to 145 at 5000 feet above sea level, the bike performs much better, so restriction is not an option anymore, it was a easy way out for my mechanic, bike still not smooth but at least reaches red line almost with some effort.
