Lever pull should be light. Bent clutch push rod? That rod can be installed backwards. Unsure if that would cause heavy lever pull.
Caution with some of the less expensive aftermarket levers. Because of poor manufacturing they can put pressure on the system when the lever is out. Not this is the reason for a heavy pull.
