idles but can't acelarate

I recently took the tank off my 99 superhawk to check the air cleaner and after putting it back togeather it will idle but when i acelerate it just bogs out and dies. I believe everything is back in the correct places. Please help.

Very possibly PVLIR... make sure your rear vacuum line (the small one) is attached to the BACK of the petcock valve and not to the bottom. The bottom nub is a vent and shouldn't be attached to anything.

Or try twisting that round thing on the right handlbar... that usually helps me accelerate!

What Moore said. I just went through that this weekend, missed out on a good ride, changed plugs, and bought everything to tear down my carbs only to find out the vacuum hose on the back of the petcock fell off. No vacuum, no fuel.

I am going to bet you put the vacuum hose on the wrong spot. You are running on the existing gas in the carbs. (what 7moore7 said). Its easy to do and why do they have a superfluous nipple anyway? Thanks honda.
