idle speed

the manual says my hawk should idle at 1200 rpms give or take a hundred. it was idling warm at a tick below 1000 so i adjusted it and now it idles warm at 1400 or 1500. much smoother now but will this idle settling hurt anything?

Not at all, more oil pressure keeps the bike happy, I do idle mine at 900-1000, sounds too cool even if it dies all the time

Speed_Demon is an unknown quantity at this point
Its fine to idle at 1400 but if your bike idles rough at 1200 your carbs are probably out of sync.
