HRC racing pics?
So in my endless quest for a cooler running bike I am contemplating a 3rd rad. Does anyone know where to find pics of how honda did it?
There is no clearance on this bike. Even my sv has a huge radiator front mounted but I cant figure how to do it.

I am running Durbahn air scoops which help a great deal but are $$$$$. One thing which I also did (relatively cheap) and could surely help is to run a (ribbed) in-line cooler (similar to this one: POLARIS RZR900 XP BILLET ALUMINUM CNC IN-LINE RADIATOR SUPER COOLER, NEW ! | eBay). I run in on the lower front hose and had it treated with heat dispersant paint to make it more efficient.
Hope this helps.....

This may help with the HRC-ish rad shots:
Moriwaki VTR
One last thing: have you considered fitting a larger oil cooler? Myself (and a few others) are running larger OEM Honda coolers (cheap and easy to find). Mine is from an EX400 ATV, which IIRC is identical to the one on an SP1......

The issue I am having is that I already have a huge zx-7 oil cooler in the only spot I think a rad could go.
I also have a heat sink around the oil filter ("can cooler) so I dont think the small inline fin thing would be noticed.
I am figuring that I may have to move the oil cooler real low ducati syle to free up room.
I have an extra left rad and an EX500 rad to mess around with.
Even in the 40s the bike hovers at 100*C when the fan comes on.. On warm days it will creep to 102ish. I have the old dash but istalled a digital thermo just to be sure of temp

Here you go:
Durbahn Shop - Bikes - Honda VTR 1000F/Super Hawk (All years)
Yes, they need the bike moving to work but they make the side-mounted rads (a rather ridiculous set-up to be honest) work quite efficiently.....

Wow the pics on that site stink. I dont get it, you have to reverse the fan to use them, or you just get the opportunity to?
Which way are they directing air, in behind wheel and from center of bike out or reverse of that?

You don`t have to reverse the fan on the VTR (blows out from inside) but I think you do on the RCs (they are set up to suck air in from outside to inside). As for airflow, they maintain the stock direction, they just optimize the airflow (direct air to the rads as opposed to counting on the pressure differential alone to draw air in). They seem to work well as my engine doesn`t run hot (this depsite running over 12:1 compression)
If you want to see them mounted, have a look at the pics I posted when I entered the VTRoM contest. They are fairly discreet.....

Mikstr, I cant find those vtrom pics(?)
MCleather, YES thats what I was trying to figure out. I just bought another left side rad thinking I could fudge it in. I also have an ex500 rad to try. That one looks smaller than the stockers right?

Yeah sure but for that effort I could just flick a switch and leave my single stocker running.
No point in two, plus it would kill my battery and lead to push starting this beast at 99.9 farenheit degrees.

I'd say it's close to half size, it is the same thickness (rows) but the width and height are smaller. Maybe 1.5" shorter and 4" narrower. I repeat, mine never runs hot. I remember running a session at Road Atlanta and talking to a student for 10 minutes after and the fan didn't kick... after that I tested the fan and switch.
