How to set TDC?

Take off the two plugs on the clutch cover and remove the valve covers. There are marks on the flywheel (F and R to align the crank. When these marks match the indicator AND the marks on the cam gears match the top surface of the head correctly (FE and FI or RI and RE) the piston is at TDC on the firing stroke.
You can also remove the sparkplug and put a small rod (like maybe a bic pen) in there. When the rod is at its highest point, the piston is at TDC.
