Help me

I'm on a 98 superhawk. was having trouble with starting my bike 2 weeks ago. I got a new battery and bike was working for about a week. Went out to start it and wouldnt start. Took the battery to auto store and they said battery was good and they did a slow charge. I started the bike once, rode it for 20 minutes and parked it. Bike sat for one day, now i try to start it and its dead again (battery draining while bike is off??). I jumped it and it runs with no power to speedometer (rmp and mph).

Any ideas?

stator?

Odds are your regulator rectifier is cooked.

You need to search the forum for MOSFET.

Read up, then replace as prescribed. Hopefully you did not also fry a bunch of other stuff.

This exact thing happened to me, replaced it with a MOFSET unit, and been great ever since

I have a sneaking suspicion that's why the previous owner sold it for so little.. haha
