Gear shift reversal?

How do you convert the shifting from standard to race ie 1 up 5 down on a Superhawk?

Thanks.

There is a spline that the shift rod is connected to. You would loosen the bolt holding the arm to the spline, then slide the arm out. Rotate it 180 degrees, then put it back on to the spline.

Check to see that the lever position is where you want it to be, then tighten down on the bolt. Loc-tite is a good idea at that time.

Congrats! Free mods are the best.

BTW, isn't Timothy spelled with an "o?"

Opps, that's what I get for cutting without checking.

The best way is buy a 94 VFR750 (fourth generation) shift lever and bolt it right on, you have no linkage to deal with this set up as it is a direct rear facing lever that fits perfectly. JIM

There is a shift lever from a '93 VFR750 on eBay now. Will that work, or does it have to be a '94? It's only $10, but I don't need any more useless crap in my garage if I can help it.
