Engine seize / CCT failure?
#61
Back in the days before the Internet we would often get calls at the shop from people far away trying to diagnose a problem. My boss was a first rate Harley mechanic from way back and one day the phone rang. It was a guy, with a Harley, that was making a strange noise. My boss got exasperated with him and "ah hell, just bring it in and let me look at it." "I can't" he said. "I'm in Alaska!" So he put the phone beside the engine, it was a phone booth (remember those?) and he cranked it up. "You have a flat lifter" was my boss's response and he proceeded to tell him how to fix it. After he called back to tell us it was all better, my boss got a funny look on his face and said "I have all this shop and all this investment is tools and equipment and I could have had em just phone it in."

Great story Jim, look how far we got these days, there's practically nothing that is not covered on the internet, now days it's playing the index, where to find the answers on the web.
