has anybody had an issue with the SH stalling very briefly... then loosing the trip meter and clock, both resetting to Zero. bike isn't running hot, starts just fine, no other issues. this happens maybe twice a month. any ideas or threads...i looked but didn't find

 

There is a major harness junction under the seat just aft of the tank. You have to remove the seat to expose it. I see you are in the PacWest where there's lots of moisture. Check this bundle carefully as mine fried and caused all sorts of problems. Mine was all corrosion of the connectors. I removed them, soldered the wires together and coated with shrink and it was all good. Also check the sidestand switch as this can cause problems in wet weather as well.

 

check all battery cable connections (at the batt. and at the engine/solenoid). Go from there with checking the battery (you can take it in to an autozone). From there check harness connections.
