Electrical Gremlins

It all started when my left blinker worked sparadically, I found a black wire had come unhooked so I plugged it back in and the blinker worked for a couple days. Then the blinker light stayed on all the time not blinking it was just lit up. Then last night riding home the speedo, tach, and mileage display started going crazy. Any suggestions? I'm not super advanced mechanically but not completely inept either.

I am not expert either, I know that on the VFRs (Interceptors), that if the battery is weak, the intruments act wierd sometimes. How is your battery? Are your symptons at low engine rpms - that is when a battery is supplimenting current. Do the other blinkers work ok? If you re-dissconnect that black wire, will the instruments then work properly?

If you are checking connectors, while you have 'em open clean the oxidation off and use di-electric grease when you put them back together. Saves failures down the road.

Wonky instruments are a symptom of a weak battery and/or charging system.

Check your R/R. If you do a search you might come across a couple references to it.
