Question Cowl brackets

My apologies if I missed the answer to this question while searching.

I'm 'restoring' a 2003 Superhawk and I ordered a new set of fairings which I should have in a few weeks. The problem is that I can't seem to make out from the parts fiche or the Service Manual which small parts (like brackets etc) I still need to pick up to make the top and side cowls fit. The parts fiche doesn't indicate exactly what fastens to what. Any insight would be welcome:

Well all the mounting points look like they are there, at least on the side pictured, though they do look a bit tweaked, which might just be the pic.

Besides the fairing stay (the big bit in the front) you are looking at numbers 10,11,12 &13 on the fiche

Thanks for the input so far. They may bell be tweaked, I'm pretty sure this bike hit something before I got it. So do 10,11,12,13 all support the top cowl ?
What about 24, 25, 49 & 50 what do they do?

I have the original resolution images here & here if they help.

Ahh, are those 12 & 13? I was confused because in the fiche they look like they go on the top cowl.

24 & 25 are sort of part of the mail cage so should be there. Cant quite tell on 49 & 50 but they too look to be part of the main assmbly of the cage. Are you getting bare fairing with nothing on it?

I think that some of the "brackets" are what are left on used fairing and hold the pieces to each other. Mostly the cage holds the headlight with rubber grommets and the mirrors and #11 hold the uppers.

Those are the mounts for the chin fairing

Yeah the drawing can be confusing...... but 10,11,12,13 & 26 are for the upper fairing and 24,25,49 & 50 are for the lower chin fairing.

OK, this is starting to make sense now.
I'm buying an ABS fairing from China (I've bought a set for both my Blackbird and my Hayabusa and was very happy with them) Mine will not have the superfluous decals and will say SuperHawk 996 not Firestorm.

Sounds/looks like I probably have all the mounts already, I'll just have to wait for the fairings to get here and go down to my favorite stainless steel bolt wholesaler and buy all the bolts I need in stainless.

As I don;t know if the bike had the fairing on when you got it, the only other thing that might catch you out is on the headlight bucket there are two pins.
They plug into the upper fairing stay where the two rubber grommets are.

take some pics and write up your results with these parts. we've discussed them before and there is mixed feedback about the fit/finish as well as how well they fit together. also some comments about thin plastic and being more brittle.

it looks like you ahve 26, the main fairing bracket around the headlight already on your bike. 10 and 12 are the brackets for the right side, and 11/13 for the left side. 10 is in your picture, but I don't see 12. I assume 11 is on the other side but you may be missing 13.

I don't recall 24 and 25 without looking at my bike again. guys....was that part of holding the headlight in and where the side fairings hook up to the headlight/upper fairing?

Well I have already identified all the bits for him.....

24 & 25 are the front mounts for the chin (lower) fairing.....

12 is shown in red in post #4

I know there is a lot of 'older' experience with the aftermarket fairings available. I have now had Airtech fiberflass which were absolutely terrible. My Hayabusa came with aftermarket PVC ones which were much better but still has some problems. I then got some of the ABS ones for both my Hayabusa and my Blackbird and I have been very impressed. The fit is damn near perfect and certainly close enough that the cost savings more than makes up for it.

Here is a set of photos that I took of my Busa a week ago with the new fairings fitted.
