Cooling fan?

My cooling only comes on every once in a while WTF?

Is my thermostat bad?

Unless you are in stop'n'go traffic and the bike isn't getting cooled by airflow it's unlikely to bee needed and won't come on... If it comes on "every once in a while" I imagine everything works as it should... when it's hot enough it turns on... then off in normal temps...

Mine will come on around 215 degrees and that doesn't happen often unless I'm in town...stop and go. Your's sounds normal.

that's normal. mine only come on around 103*c, or is it 106? something like that.

mine is a 98 so i have an analog temp gauge.......when i first got the bike it would come on at about half on the gauge, now it rarely comes on at all .....the gauge gets up to the red zone,

That's not good. Check the fan switch, located on the upper rear of the right radiator. On older Honda Civics and Accords those used to go bad all the time. I would just replace it. It shouldn't be that expensive, less than $20 for the cars, so double that for a bike. Could be the same part though.

hmmm

your first post made it sound like there was nothing wrong

but your second makes it sound like there is

it should come on just above half temp

start with simple things, check connections
