First post here. I have a question regarding a coolant leak that sprung from a 1998 Superhawk. I maintain a collection of bikes that are almost all brand new/0 miles. This bike is a bit of a peach. Shes never been ran and about as new as it can get. There’s a hole right behind the water pump that the coolant decided to **** out of. The plan is to dry the bike out and put back into the collection (blasphemous in know). The collector has no intent to run the thing so we’re not going to take the clutch side apart to figure out what’s going on. Just figured I’d throw it out there to see what the pros have to say. Any input is appreciated!
Pump seal is leaking. The hole is to give the coolant an escape route. If it's going to be repaired, the case cover comes off.
I see! Leave it to Honda to think ahead. Feel like most manufacturers would just let coolant blow by and make it the owners problem when they start to overheat. Thanks!
