Carb sync, book calls for a 20mm Hg difference

Title says it all, My question is why is it recommended to set the vacuum even if the book calls for a 20 mm Hg difference? Is it that its too small to worry about or Thanks for the input!

That is a MAX difference and only then when using the factory gauge set.

Ideally, you want them the same.
