capping off nipples

capping off nipples

until my block off plates come in (nice weekend) i want to cap off the reed covers. can i just put a vaccum cap on the nipple or should i run a small piece of hose then cap it (due to heat if any).. thanks

The best way is to remove the reed and flip it over so it can't open. Then you can run just a set of caps until the plates come.

yeah i flipped them already just wanted to make sure caps wouldn't melt, but by reading what you wrote i should be good. thanks again

After flipping the reeds there is still some suction present. As for capping nipples I prefer to use my mouth (sorry it's saturday we started waayyy early). I put some rubber corks in mine.

yeah to be safe i put some zip ties on my nipples when i was done.. i always practice safe modding

so after resetting tps, dePAIRing, putting a stock filter back in (found k&n in there with stock jetting), debaffle cans ... what a blast this bike is now.. thanks for answering the noob questions and the KB section rocks!!
