2008 GSX-R1000 wheels fit?

Does anyone know/has anyone tried to fit wheels from a late model GSXR1000 to a VTR? I realise the rotors are 10mm larger at the front, but that would not be an issue for me as I have radial calipers and could easily compensate with the addition of a 5mm spacer. I am more concerned about the width issues (likely have a larger axle but this, too, can be easily remedied with spacers)....

thanks!

Well if you are going to change wheels, talk to me about those PVMs

well Mike, if I do swap, I can indeed talk to you about them..... though not sure if the front wheel would fit the bill with your front end.....

So, based on what I found so far, I think the front would fit with a set of custom made captive spacers. More difficult to find out about the rear, however......

I may be able to assist but I have a 750 so measurements will be off.

I was able to find that the Gixxer uses a 28mm axle (vs 20mm for VTR, easily fixed with caprive spacers). I also found that the outermost measurement between the bearings is supposed to be 170mm. The rear rotor is same diameter at 220mm. The key remaining issues are rotor and sprocket alignment.....
