New Living Will
I, _________________________ (fill in the blank), being of sound mind
and body, do not wish to be kept alive indefinitely by artificial means.
Under no circumstances should my fate be put in the hands of peckerwood
politicians who couldn't pass ninth-grade biology if their lives
depended on it. If a reasonable amount of time passes and I fail to sit
up and ask for a cold beer, it should be presumed that I won't ever get
better. When such a determination is reached, I hereby instruct my
spouse, children and attending physicians to pull the plug, reel in the
tubes and call it a day.
Under no circumstances shall the members of the Legislature enact a
special law to keep me on life-support machinery. It is my wish that
these boneheads mind their own damn business, and pay attention instead
to the health, education and future of the millions of Americans who
aren't in a permanent coma.
Under no circumstances shall any politicians butt into this case. I
don't care how many fundamentalist votes they're trying to scrounge for
their run for the presidency in 2008, it is my wish that they play
politics with someone else's life and leave me alone to die in peace.
I could not care less if a hundred religious zealots send e-mails to
legislators in which they pretend to care about me. I don't know these
people, and I certainly haven't authorized them to preach and crusade on
my behalf. They should mind their own business too.
If any of my family goes against my wishes and turns my case into a
political cause, I hereby promise to come back from the grave and make
his or her existence a living hell!

Just one addition...
But if all I need is to be fed, and the guy who poisoned me is asking for
the feeding to stop, tell him to **** up a rope. Especially if he is now
shacked up and breeding the sheriff's daughter of the county where the
dipdunk judge is trying to kill me. Remember, the EMT's called it a
homicide for a reason...because it wasn't self-induced.
It's possible that on 4/5/05 7:33 PM, Steve Plegge at jsplegge@charter.net
hurled this into the void...

It is an ironclad law of economics that if you want more of something,
subsidize it; if you want less of something, tax it. But liberals were
shocked and bewildered to discover that when they subsidized illegitimacy,
they got more of it.

I don't know mate....when I'm dead they can do what they want to me, I quite
like the idea of my body becoming a breakers yard for spare parts to go to
others.
God I spend enough time in these places getting parts for my bike which is
almost transformed as a true street fighter superhawk.
Sorry, I think I'm turning the thread back to bikes....I'll get my coat.

It's possible that on 4/5/05 10:58 PM, Steve Plegge at jsplegge@charter.net
hurled this into the void...
> What flavor *is* that Kool-Aid, Big D?
Truth flavored, the kind that scares people the most.
Do a little digging, the story on the front pages had as much resemblance to
reality as an eBay add claiming a VTR is the world's fastest four cylinder
superbike.

Nor some doctors....some will keep you on life support until the insurance runs out or HIPA gives in, whichever comes first.
