SHOEI X-11 RESIZING QUESTION

OK so I bought an x-11, small, & want to resize it to a medium. Has anyone done this? I heard it was just a cheekpad switch, but then saw something about a crown pad. Any 411 on this??

the x-11 is manufactured with a different shell size for each size of helmet....this means that the size of the interior lining on the x-11s are NOT interchangable

-1 for being incorrect.

Shoei has resolved this problem by designing four separate shell sizes for the X-Eleven. The smallest shell is used for the XXS, XS and S sizes; the medium shell is used for head size medium; the size large shell for head size large, and an extra-large shell size for XL and XXL.

Unfortunately for the OP, you can't change a Small to Medium. The medium did have it's own shell.

OK, so after getting & giving lots of good deal among fellow riders, I really stepped in it this time. So now I OWN a small x-11 that is non resizeable. I plan to just sell it off as the seller is now not responding to PM's.

Oh....sorry for being "incorrect" ....when I speak of helmet sizes I am speaking of the normal s-xl....I will try to be more specific next time.....but i believe the info as it pertains to this thread is CORRECT

Wow, feeling a little butt-hurt about it, a WEEK later.

You should be more specific, your statement was that there 7 shell sizes and that none were interchangable.

You were lucky in the fact that the OPs weren't interchangable.

Stow the sensitivity, it wasn't a personal affront, but you seem to have taken it that way. It took me 30 seconds to find the article and post the info. If you're gonna make statements at least make them factual, not just a guess that gets lucky.

Hey, could you guys quit quabbling & focus on the fact that I got RIPPED OFF & that I am the victim here? (chuckle) The moral of the story is that you CANNOT turn a small into a medium. This is what we should be teaching the children....

I too found it funny that a discussion about helmet sizing could deteriorate so quickly!

Sorry your resizing plan didn't work out. Hopefully you can profit slightly on the resale to fund another helmet!

There was nothing quick about it. Took him a week to read it and then feel butt-hurt about it.

Smokinjoe's response was exactly what I expected from guys on the board. He's gonna give someone a good deal. +1 to Joe

By quick I just meant low number of posts... and I was trying to be light-hearted. I guess the humor/tone just didn't come through in writing.

Glad to hear it!!! Agree it sucks that another forum member would leave you hanging... but I suppose that's why there's a feedback section in the classifieds.
