cortech sport bags

me and the wifey going to do a road trip in the next week or so, so decided to get some soft bags to throw on the hawk. they are cortech sport bags, real easy to throw on and take back off when not needed. come with rain guards. they also have a matching rear seat bag and tank bag i'll prob pickup in case i decide to go on a solo trip anytime. here's a few pics....

What keeps the bags from sliding back and off once you get moving?

You are being warned... with out proper support they will bust your tail plastic. Look underneath, there is minimum attachment (see: one plastic rivet). This is why some build racks to support these items.

I have the three piece Cortech and use the tail bag on the Hawk and Sabre. The saddle bags and high pipe combination bring back bad dreams. A friends spent to much time near a hot exhaust and began pitching tools my way around 70 mph.

I have a set, they are quite nice but the day I bought a vtr it was clear that they are not practical for it.. large and small coretech magnetic tank bags are awesome though, even fit a helmet in the large one!

I have the 3 bag setup on my hawk. Just got back from a 1800 mile trip and they worked great. I did make a rack setup that would keep the bags off the plastic and secure the bags. this worked great for a 6 day camping trip.

Your bags are fine. I wouldnt worry about the high mounts as your bags are mounted up higher than the cans. I run my bags a little lower and have had no signs of anything burning at all. Plus you have the added protection of the heat shield. Your cans shouldnt get that hot anyways... at least mine dont.
Not sure if your wife is riding the other bike or behind you... Either way I would recommend putting the straps under the seat. I did that with mine with a little finagling they will fit. Then you can have a passenger and at the same time be able to keep your bags secure. Have fun on your rode trip! They are so much fun.

well just got back from a 500 mile trip, no brackets made, no cracks, no burns, worked great.........i got them from my local shop for about $130. with the straps under the seat they sit to low and are real close to my exhaust. also got caught in some severe rain and they stayed bone dry with the covers on.......i'll be buying the middle bag this week for solo trips.
