I agree but it's not unexpected. The FIM needs to make room for a South American round so one of the US rounds was on the block. I would have preferred it was Indy but I think they had more clout/money than Laguna.

Also not that many MotoGP riders don't care for Laguna and that goes back years. I recall Wayne Gardner referring to Laguna as a Motocross track!

Still, laguna spent a **** ton of money to bring motoGP back to the US. It kind of sucks that Indy is going to take advantage of all the work Laguna did.

The race has been losing money at Seca for the past four years, and this year the licensing fees charged by Dorna/FIM/whoever is going up by 800k...it sucks, but it's a no brainer for the track organization

With the lack of interest compared to the rest of the world I wouldn't look for indy to be permanent. The bottom line is money and it just doesn't generate the kind of scratch that's expected.

Lagua is actuallly a really poor venue. They do not have the facility to support a world-level event. If they fiox that problem things will change. Until then, a top-notch location like Indy or Austin will always win.

If each track was exactly 30 minutes from your house, which would you want to do a track day on the most? I'm not arguing which has a better garage... From a fans point of view, watching Indy isn't very exciting, Laguna on the other hand:

Just my opinion of course.

Laguna is what "we" (avid motorcyclists) like to watch but the scope of viewership has to be broader for these events to be successful for advertisers. From the perspective of the cameras, Indy and Austin look more like the polished European venues. I don't think a lot of viewers see the difference in terrain that we do.

Brazil is an enormous market. I'm sure Dorna wants a piece of that badly.
