Midnight ride spoiled

Nothing like not being able to sleep. Got up and took off for a midnight ride. Get fifty or so miles from home and notice the headlight flicker. Turned around to go home and BAM the bike dies. No lights, no horn, no nothing. Twenty miles from anything remotely resembling civilization and didn't even have a flashlight. If you haven't figured it out yet, R/R **** the bed. Luckily I had a new one under the seat. Like to have never got the plug out of the socket. Got it changed and running great again. Made it home just in time to take a shower and leave for work. Shouldn't have any problem sleeping tonight.

From now on there is a surefire under the seat as well. It was a pain in the *** using a BIC lighter with the wind blowing. As for the spare under the seat, got bit once before coming up A1A from Key West, so I learned the lesson the hard way that time. Hopefully the Electro-Sport will be better than the stock pos.

id say the one to go with is a yamaha r1 r/r. my r/r just died not too long ago, so i ordered an r1 r/r, snipped off the old piece of crap, stripped the wires, crimped on some quick disconnects, wrapped them in electrical tape, plugged them in, wrapped the whole damn thing in electrical tape. i took it for a ride and got the bike to operating temperature and was able to put my hand on the r/r, thats how cool it was. its a much bigger r/r with bigger and thicker cooling fins. it was really easy to do the swap, the only downside is that you can only put the top bolt in to mount it on the frame, but it still sits on there nicely.
